A man who shot two women in an Auburn apartment Monday in a domestic disturbance and then shot himself while in a standoff with a Gwinnett Police Department SWAT team and Suwanee police officers died at Gwinnett Medical Center Monday night, Auburn Police chief Paul Nadeau said Tuesday.

One of the female victims is still alive and in stable condition. She is identified as Monica Ann Long, 32, and she is recovering at Gwinnett Medical Center, according to Nadeau. The deceased female is identified as Betty Marie Maddox, 34, Nadeau said.

The shooter, 29-year-old Shuaib Zaid Omar of Suwanee, was reportedly Maddox's boyfriend.

After shooting the two females, he fled to his mother's home in Suwanee where police tracked him. The incident happened about 12:30 p.m. at an apartment at 186 Parks Mill Road in Auburn.

Suwanee police Capt. Clyde Byers said officers made contact with Omar at about 4 p.m. Monday, but he shot himself in his head. Omar initially survived the shooting, but died late Monday night.

It is the correct name of one of the victim's. And she does have two little boys who witnessed the shooting. I have no idea if this Charity is a fraud or not, just letting you know the name is correct.

A safer way to help is to contact the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. They are reliable charities that help families and individuals in their time of need.

I think if you contact the Sheriff's Dept. they will be able to put you in contact with the charity that is legitimately assisting the family.

Or contact the agency that actually is investigating the case, The City of Auburn Police Department. The Barrow County Sheriff's Office IS NOT the investigating agency which is what we were told when I called them. Auburn will be able to answer any questions about donations to family members, assistance etc. This is what me and my family have done. They were very busy with this case, but provided us with the info we needed to assist.

Red Cross maybe, I would donate anything to the Salvation Army Church Cult, I would give my monry to these people long before giving the Salvation Army the time of day, You haven't experienced them like I have, and it changed my mind.

It is a very Sad state that we are all in, that we Automatically jump to the conclusion that everything is probably a fraud, it shows where the world is today, too bad. I do it too. We see evil before good. I have no idea it the ministry above you have been debating is legit or not but just an observation.

Weird donation that has money to send people to vacations..It sounds very weird and not trust worthy at all..Its a shame that they using someone misfortunes for their fortunes.

The donation certificates were sent to this charity a month ago & were a DONATION for teh charity to give out to bring in donations & in this case when the families needs help desperately it seems a fitting cause to use the FREE vacation certificates as incentives to bring in the much needed donatiosn for this family,Monica has NO health insurance,her family cannot afford the gas to get back & forth from & to the hospital,she will be recovering for a LONG time & will not be able to work her new job at Golden Corral to pay her bills so she needs our help& prayers.She did NOTHING wrong except try to go upstairs to help her neighbor who was recouperating from open heart surgery who was screaming for help & got shot,it was the upstairs neighbor,the wife of the shooter,who passed away.Please excuse my typing I am the CEO of Angels with Faith Ministries & we are just as legitimate as teh big name charities & we give 100% of donations directly to the family & because of people who assume things none have come in but our charity is still helping with every dime that we have available & also by giving the FREE vacation certificates taht were donated to us for this reason to bring in donations for this family.We report to the IRS every dime that comes in & goes out,we are a non-profit charity & do not make a DIME for our efforts,we are acually volunteers & pay all of our own charity costs etc from our own pockets so taht every dime that comes in can help those in true need.instead of trying to degrade someone who is trying to truelly help thsi family please at least PRAY for Monica & her 2 small sons they have been through alot

Your way to busy defending your charity ..If the victim does not have insurance the hospital will call Medicare to see if they cover and if she can not work .then for sure medicare will help her and her boys.So your job is getting her family members to talk to hospital admin office who has direct line to Medicare.
For a CEO .you keep spelling mispelling the word "taht"the correct way madame CEO is "that"..

DO NOT DONATE THIS IS A FRAUD.

Three things in paticular indicate this is a scam.

1. Nonprofit charities do not normally have a CEO, they tend to have directors. A CEO would indicate that they are a FOR PROFIT organization or more likely here a scam.

2. If you were recieve services or goods in return for monies paid then by the IRS definition it can cannot be considered a donation and is not tax deductable nor is it tax exemptable.

3. The most telling of all is the CEO's lack of spelling and basic grammer skills.

I am truelly sorry taht my typing skills are not perfect I have had 12 strokes in the past few years but my typing skills have nothing to do with helping this family & if my right side doesnt act right it doesnt ever stop me from helping those in true need. Not to mention that there is also a fake charity on facebook called "God's Child Foundation" this SCAM is ran by a local family who's spelling and grammer skills are very close to this "CEO's" level. And they also rant and rave about doing God's work very much like this "CEO". So it really would be no surprise if this turns out to be the same people.

There is no registration for Angels With Faith Ministries with the Secretary of State as either a non-profit or for-profit corporation. Neither Michael Tuck nor Lori Tuck (the alleged CEO) are registered as the officers of ANY corporation according to the Secretary of State's website.

My name is Michael Tuck. I am the pastor of our little home church. If your family was of the over 200 children we were blessed to be able to provide some christmas for you would know how real we are. I understand we are not as big as the red cross or others but we do as we can. My wifes hart is in the right place with helping this family. I am not asking for your donations I am asking for prayer for them. We are providing gas funds and food funds for them as we can and the Lord will provide the rest. We are a regestered charity. We are not scam artist and ones who are will have to answer for that. My wife and I started this ministry arter she had T.I.A.s or mini strokes and have been blessed to be a part or serving our community. Please pray for this family and all those affected by this. I will say that I hope you actually ARE LEGIT, and if so you will do good works and not be discouraged by the skeptics. In this day and age, they outnumber the those with blind faith for a reason. Angels with Faith Ministries 501c3 non-profit charity in Winder,Georgia accepts any & all timeshare donations & they are tax deductible.Their volunteer built website(they are run strictly by volunteers & give 100% of all donations to helping people in need,crisis or after disasters,AMAZING people!) I'm finding it hard to believe that this charity will just simply accept ownership. Most charities will charge thousands of dollars for that.

I'm not doubting that this charity is doing good, charitable works. I just find it strange that, if this charity is going to be fiscally responsible, that it will take over ownership of timeshares that have yearly increasing maintenance fees. Who pays these fees each year? What happens if a special assessment pops up?

And as for the part about receiving a tax write-off/deduction for the full market value, remember that the owner could not sell it and had to give it away. If he had to give it away, the fair market value is around zero and that's what the tax deduction will be.

And just what do you do with the timeshares once you take ownership .... do you continue to pay yearly maintenance fees or do you just let it go into foreclosure leaving other owners at the resort responsible for paying your share. As Lance said, it's the fair market value that counts when donating a timeshare and giving it away has zero fair market value.

Timeshares are for 1 week only so it doesn't make sense that you help people in need of housing. It looks like just another fake charity advertising on Redweek.

After you give them your money, you will need to shut your paypal account down, and contact your credit card company and have them close the account after the charges are posted. These paypal scams work by them hacking your account after you've made the "donation."

Also, you're not getting a FREE VACATION. You're getting a FREE CERTIFICATE that will allow you to book a vacation through a travel company. They'll charge 10-20% over the standard rate. They'll only book you at Extended Stays, Red Roof Inns, and other similar 1 star rated hotels.

Ms.Betty (Besty)Marie Maddox is part of my family and all I can say is this is so hurtful and shows just how some people lose focus of what the real issue is. It is the ones who were hurt and their childern!!!!! If any of you have any doubt then go to the Auburn police and ask questions. Or just give to another charity you trust in their name. As for Besty go to wells fargo they will direct you from there. I find it so dis-heartful that you choose this forum to accuse and point fingers when this again IS ABOUT THE ONES HURT AND THEIR CHILDERN. GROW UP.
