The Braselton Police Department issued citations against two people in a car that had a small amount of marijuana, according to an incident report.
An officer said he stopped a vehicle on Interstate 85 on Thursday, March 22, for having its bright lights activated. The car’s window tinting was also too dark, police said.
The vehicle had four people inside and an officer said he could smell burnt marijuana coming from the car.
The driver told an officer that he smoked a marijuana joint by himself and that there was nothing else in the vehicle, according to an incident report. The three passengers also denied having marijuana in the car.
An officer said that because he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle, he was allowed to search, according to an incident report. He found a marijuana cigarette in a console.
The three female passengers gave consent for police to search their purses, one of which contained a baby food jar with three plastic bags with suspected marijuana. One of the passengers admitted that the marijuana belonged to her.
The driver and one of the passengers were given citations for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The blunt and the baby food jar were taken by police as evidence. All of the occupants of the car were released.
Other Incidents
Other incidents reported to the Braselton Police Department last week included:

•forgery at Wells Fargo on Spout Springs Road, where an employee said a woman tried to cash a fake check. The woman left the bank and walked toward a McDonald’s. She had a tattoo on her chest that said, “Makiah.” An officer looked for the woman, but didn’t find her.
•damage to property on I-85, where a woman said her vehicle hit a piece of furniture — possibly a nightstand — that was in the middle of the roadway. An officer said the furniture was destroyed beyond recognition. The woman’s vehicle had a long piece of wood protruding from the front, according to an officer. There was also damage to the front and a bumper.
•damage to property on I-85, where a woman said a tractor-trailer truck sideswiped her vehicle in Braselton. What bull squeeze....bright light are now probable cause....Why doesn't Law Enforcemant just tell the truth.
These people were outside of their homes, that makes them suspect.
Listen up boys and girls...never ever give consent to a search.
Stand up for your rights...flex your rights.

and....If it was night, which it obviously was, how could the officer tell the window tint was too dark?
Come on people-Stand up for yourself!
Try joining the 21st century, luddite.
And I wasn't spelling for the stupid cop when he looked at my license anyway, so your asinine retort makes no sense as far as justifying his inquisition.
Just a badge-heavy little jerk.
Another shock to a room-temp. I.Q. such as yours is that not everyone has to peruse through a thesaurus in order to use words as big as mayonnaise. Finally, I intend to continue to use "foto" in emails, blogs and the like. And, if a cretin thinks it's an unintentional misspelling, well, god bless the fool -- and I hope it makes his day. Such a creature obviously needs those little triumphs. As much as he needs to have the Last Word. Be my guest.
I was stopped twice in the same night for "tag light out" which, btw, it was NOT out. Could it have been the white guy in the passenger seat with a long ponytail? or my friend's 20 year old black son with dreadlocks riding in the back???????
You lawdawgs are SO predictable! LMBO
This is your quote. Please tell me how the headlights blind you for 5-10 seconds as your passing. It takes less then a second to pass a parked vehicle going 70 mph. Oh, wait, time must pass slower in your vehicle. You must have one of those new " slow time vehicles" i have been reading about. Nope no cop, just someone who can see through BS.
That's why you see so many stories of drug busts that start with a stop for illegal tint.
Like the law or not, it doesn't matter, it is what it is until the law gets changed. Don't be dumb and give them a reason to stop you. And don't get me started about the legal liability you incur if you are in an accident where someone is hurt or killed and YOU are the one driving with illegal tint. You won't have a leg to stand on in court.
