Actor Justin Timberlake (left) films a scene from the movie “Trouble with the Curve” on Covered Bridge Road in Barrow County on Monday. The Hoschton road was closed most of the day to allow a production company to film scenes from the movie. At times, a small portion of nearby Ga. Hwy. 211 was closed while some scenes were being filmed. The production company was also stationed at Bethabra Baptist Church for some of its behind-the-scenes work.

The movie will also star Clint Eastwood, John Goodman and Amy Adams, and will be in theaters in September. The movie is about “an ailing baseball scout in his twilight years” who takes his daughter along for one last recruiting trip, according to IMDb. The film has also been shot around Georgia, including Dawsonville and Macon.

I doubt it Barrow County has the Road Blocked and 4 Units at GA 211.

What does any of this article or fact that a film is being shot locally have to do with #4's comment about homosexuality? How is that relevant to this?

I understand that you may have a stance against homosexuality, for a moral or personal reason or belief, everyone has a view on those type topics. But the story is not about the movies content, is that about homosexuality??, I have no idea.. It is about a major motion picture that is "Filming in Barrow County area"

I dont think anyone by writing this piece was endorsing any Hollywood stance about sexuality, they are just telling us that filming is here.

It's not Justin's movie. It is Clint Eastwoods. Justin is one of the co-stars.

This is Not the first Movie filmed in Barrow County and this area. Several films over the years have had scenes filmed around here.

Just saying .... For me it's cool, and my daughter love JT so 4 decades down the way shell say to her kids " hey years ago a movie was filmed in ga and Barrow Co was part of it.
And I'm aware of the other movie.

I've seen some vile stuff go unmoderated here, so I know our hosts are very tolerant, even of the intolerant. I don't know what you said to get your comment deleted, but it had to be bad. There's no shortage of venues for you to spew bigotry if BJ's standards are too high for you.

I've warned on here in the past to not get off-topic. The comment that was deleted was accusations that certain people are gay and that has nothing to do with this post. If you hijack a blog to make wild accusations that are off-topic, and I see it, I will delete it. I'm tolerant of free speech, but if you want to be nasty, go start your own blog site and say anything you wish. But we have no obligation to make this site available for such comments.

Correct. This story is about the film and nothing else. Any comments not related to the topic or another's comment about the topic, should be removed. More positive credit to the area is very welcome, ie: A major film being shot here!

I dont want a debate on such uneven turf, and you are partly right in that one of the comments removed made an unfounded accusation against someone who shall remain unnamed. The other comment that was removed later though was more of a statement aginst the liberal hollywood popular opinion setters. This is just one of the abhorrent things that these people constantly push on the rest of society through the free press, its only right therefore that they recieve some push back occasionaly, and story about a hollywood company filming something locally is a good venue for that because "everybody" is reading about it.

This is a good forum to debate the issues relating to the subject or related subjects of the article in the BJ, but sometimes comments are completely off the subject entirely. I felt after reading the entire list above that, even though people are entitled to opinion and feel passionately about certain topics, they are in bad taste or not relevant to the article.

I am very disappointed that we have something SPECIAL occuring in Barrow County, that was should feel pride or appreciation, see the positive in, and then we have a personal tirade about homosexuality(not related to this at all) and cheap shots about crime here (everywhere has some), cant for once we stay positive or on point. This is on film you can see at Barrow's new cinema one day...

Remember that you & I, all of us are playing on someone elses field, so they can exercise the power to kick us off the lot sometimes, if we are not playing well with others or whatever.

I just don't see how that subject fits into this article. I already am concerned about how we locals view our own community, but this article may get viewed by many outside of our community and I do care how it might look, reflect on us. (otherwise, I have no idea who or what you were talking about at the BJ).

Bad people make the headlines while the majority made up of good people go about their business. Barrow is completely normal in that respect. The good people need to make more noise and drown out the bad.

The bad outweigh the good in a big time way in Barrow County. 95 percent of the people are fall into one of the bottom of the barrel categories listed above.

I like the fact our county is being used in a film, but I have an issue with them closing down our roads to shoot. I hope they are paying something to the county for the usage as GA has a tax break for filming and between them and CSX, Im done with people blocking our streets

Really can't help the train blocking the streets. That is when they stop to pick up or drop off materials. Isn't that the point of the train? And as long as that train is stopping here, people are working. Isn't that a good thing?

think means the fact the had them blocked to fix and seems they made them higher and some are still rough as for blocking for movies good job
