Is the City of Auburn bustling enough to provide public transportation? Its leaders hope so. The city needs a transportation program that would cart people from a soon-to-be apartment complex directly to the city center. City officials learned Feb. 16 that in order to qualify for certain tax credits through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Auburn has to offer some sort of public transit.
But council member Bob Vogel indicated that he didn’t think the idea of public transit would benefit the current citizens of Auburn.
“I don’t think people are going to want this thing driving by their house 28 times a day,” he said. “I know I don’t want to see it going by my house just doing laps like NASCAR. I just don’t see where we have the population and the amount of riders to justify putting gas in this bus. I know the points are critical, I just don’t see this working.”

There are hundreds of cities multiple times larger than Auburn that do not have transportation systems and those may have actual places to go to. Who is going to ride this, moreover, WHO is going to PAY FOR IT?
If it can be SELF-SUSTAINING, Go For It. (otherwise who had this idea should resign now)
