Kelli Salyer (left) created the “Crazy Love” painting in Braselton that has become the signature painting of an art studio, Masterpiece Mixers, opened by sister Krista Goodrich. The United Nations recently announced that it will use the heart design as a stamp to promote autism awareness. Photo by Kerri Testement

Nice. Warm and fuzzy. But keep the U.N. out of it. Don't be fooled by the U.N. "humanitarian" efforts. The U.N. is ultimately about control.

Dear Lisa - wise up. This may well be a wonderful effort, however Tim is right. America needs to get out of the UN and get the UN off of our soil.

Screw the U.N. This is a black eye for Braselton.

Tim and Vern: While most people(including myself) may agree with you about the U.N., it really has nothing to do with the overall story, other than promoting some stamps. You can cynically call it "Nice. Warm and fuzzy," as you wish- however, I'm assuming that you don't have a child or loved one with autism. I think that the Just People organization is wonderful and doing amazing things for disabled adults. As a parent of an autistic child, this is meaningful to me. Please keep your United Nations/political soapbox and idiotic "this is a black eye for Braselton" comments to yourselves. Thanks.

Oh, yeah. After all, "It's...for the children." Well, then that makes a little U.N. involvement O.K. then. Hey, if the U.N. can be so good in this case, let's see how much more good they can do...for the children. By the way, that always comes with strings attached.

I really like the painting created by Isherwood Colm and I appreciate the heart rendering above however I really feel the title of the heart creation is inappropriately named 'crazy love'. Those struggling on a daily basis with different forms of Autism are labelled and subjected to terminologies that are negative quite often and the word 'crazy' is indicative of not being 'normal'....I'm truly surprise those involved with this contest and the Autism Organization didn't think about that. The painting's name actually made my colleague who suffers from serious forms of Autism, re: Asperger's Syndrom and Purine Autism rather irritated and noticeably perturbed and with good reason....yes Autism is about all aspects of this condition, the good the bad and the ugly and how it affects everyone differently who unfortunately suffers from its ailments. I feel the wording again 'crazy' was a somewhat desensitized name to refer to it as, people with Autism are the furthest thing from 'crazy'. Thank you for listening.
