The Auburn City Council unanimously approved a new alcohol ordinance Nov. 17 allowing Sunday sales for beer and wine and at the same time a provisional license for existing retailers that won’t cost them an additional penny until the first of the year.
According to city staff’s recommendation to council, there were only six Sundays left prior to Thursday’s vote that businesses would be able to take advantage of Sunday sales.
The approved provisional license will only be valid until Dec. 31.
