Auburn mayor Linda Blechinger is one of five national female finalists selected for a national award for her leadership skills.
The Women in Municipal Government Leadership Award recognizes a female local official for unique and outstanding leadership in local government.
Auburn city staff member Michelle Walker and city council member Donna Scouten nominated Blechinger for the award.
The finalist list also includes another Georgian. Mayor of Sandy Springs Eva Galambos has also been nominated.
The winner will be announced on Friday, Nov. 11 during the WIMG Leadership Award Luncheon during the National League of Cities’ (NLC) Congress of Cities and Exposition in Phoenix, Ariz.
