Winder-Barrow High School Senior Class President Shaquillia Harrigan has been selected as one of 50 students from around Georgia to serve on State Superintendent of Schools John Barge’s 2011-2012 Student Advisory Council.
More than 700 students applied to be appointed to the council; an essay was part of the application process. Council members were chosen based on the strength of their essay, as well as school and community involvement.
I wish there as many positive comments on articles like this one as there are negative comments on other local education news. There really is good stuff happening in our schools, folks.
