The City of Auburn will host its annual Great American Clean Up on Friday, Oct. 7 and Sat., Oct. 8 in downtown Auburn. Participants do not have to live in Auburn. The Friday hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday the Clean Up is from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Containers will be set up behind City Hall.
There will be no charge for: batteries, motor oil, scrap metal, cell phones, eye glasses (for the Lion’s Club), cameras and radios, ink cartridges, electronics, antifreeze (please label the container) and junk.
A fee of $2-$5 per tire will be charged, depending on the tire size.
The city will not accept: paint of any type, paint thinner, cooking oil, construction materials or yard waste. For more information, contact Charlotte Ewing, 770-963-4002, ext. 223.
