A Barrow County Sheriff’s deputy arrested seven men under the age of 21 on Sept. 3 for underage possession of alcohol when he stopped the driver of a Ford Explorer traveling 82 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone on Ga. Hwy. 316 near Jackson Trail Road on its way to the Georgia-Boise State football game in Atlanta.
According to an incident report, the arresting deputy discovered the men were holding 64 cans of beer and four large bottles of liquor among them, although all tested negative on portable Breathalyzer tests.
None of the seven arrested were from Barrow County.
Arrested were:
•Baylor Batemate Banks, 19, of 2803 Dover Road NW, Atlanta;
•William Henry Drew, 18, of 2206 Emory Drive, Tifton;
•Frederick Andrew Ely, 19, of 1550 Branch Road, Bishop;
•Nicholas Anthony Moore, 18, of 3204 Powers Ferry Road SE, Marietta;
•Gregory Samuel Paulette, 19, of 787 Brookhaven Springs Ct., Atlanta;
•Jordan Solomon Redd, 19, of 3605 Mayfair Road NE, Atlanta; and
•Clayton Maceachern Tolmie, 19, of 331 Wallace Road, Lake Forest, Ill.
On Sept. 4, the same deputy made another three arrests. These arrests also involved people under the age of 21 for alcohol and drug related offenses, after he stopped the driver of 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on Ga. Hwy. 316 near Ga. Hwy. 53 for having a beer can stuck on the roof of the vehicle. Those arrested and their charges were:
•Frank Hubert Coram, 19, of 250 Little St. Apt. B105, Athens; DUI-alcohol, possession of alcohol by minor, failure to maintain lane, possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute, falsify identification document, following too closely, manufacture/deliver/administer/sell/possess w/ intent to distribute controlled substance.
•Andrew Benjamin Lankford, 19, of 4030 Abing Dow Road, Charlotte, N.C.; furnishing, purchasing and possession of alcoholic beverages by persons below legal age, illegal possession of controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute, identification document-falsify.
•Cameron Paul Spears, 19, of 2535 Aviation Way, Augusta; possession of a schedule I controlled substance, furnishing, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute, purchasing and possession of alcoholic beverages by persons below legal age, identification document-falsify, marijuana possession less than 1 ounce.
