The Barrow County Superior Court recently sentenced the following people. Those charged and their sentences are listed below. Charges listed as nolle prosequi are those in which the prosecutor or plaintiff indicated they would not proceed with the case.
In criminal cases, a disposition of nolle prosequi may be entered when evidence proves innocence or charges cannot otherwise be proved.
Recent Barrow County Superior Court sentences handed
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on Aug. 18, 2011, with Superior Court Judge T. Penn McWhorter presiding:

•Marsha Lynn Gibson, DUI-alcohol and drugs less safe, failure to maintain lane; 12 months probation, treatment for defensive driving and an $800 fine. Nolle prosequi: DUI-less safe, DUI-drugs-less safe, fleeing/attempting to elude, speeding, failure to drive on right side of the road, open container.
•Joshua Marquis Jordan, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, speeding; 12 months probation, treatment for alcohol/drugs and a $1,000 fine.
•Stephanie Marie Farmer, disorderly conduct; 12 months probation, treatment for alcohol/drugs, no violent contact with victim(s) and a $300 fine.
•Jacob Richard Roberts, DUI-less safe; 24 hours confinement, 12 months probation, 40 hours community service, treatment for alcohol/drugs and risk reduction and a $500 fine. Nolle prosequi: DUI-per se, taillight violation.
•Greta Darlene Morrill, reckless driving; 12 months probation, treatment for alcohol/drugs and a $500 fine. Nolle prosequi: failure to maintain lane, striking fixed object.
•Tyler Trudel, DUI-alcohol; 12 months probation, treatment for risk reduction and alcohol/drugs and a $750 fine. Nolle prosequi: DUI - less safe, failure to maintain lane.
•Raymond L. Ray, DUI-less safe, speeding; 12 months probation, weekly attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous, for 52 consecutive weeks, 240 community service, treatment for alcohol/drugs and risk reduction and a $1,500 fine.
•Raymond L. Ray, reckless driving two years consecutive with another sentence currently serving, treatment for alcohol/drugs and risk reduction and a $1,500 fine.
•Nicholas Adams, possession of marijuana less than one ounce; 12 months probation, 40 hours community service, treatment for alcohol/drugs and a $1,000 fine. Nolle prosequi: VGCSA, possession of drug related objects.
•Marquavious D. Barnes, possession of marijuana less than one ounce; 12 months probation, 12 months concurrent with another sentence currently serving, treatment for alcohol/drugs and a $1,250 fine.
•Jason Nicholas Dehart, theft by taking, criminal trespass; 12 months to serve in confinement concurrent with sentence defendant is currently serving in Gwinnett County.
•Adam Chrisman Funk; DUI-less safe; 12 months probation, 40 hours community service, treatment for alcohol/drugs and risk/reduction and $1,129 in fines. Nolle prosequi: SUI-per se, failure to maintain lane.
•Jimmy Herschel Ross, disorderly conduct; 12 months probation and a $475 fine. Nolle prosequi: simple assault family violence, criminal trespass.
•Daniel D. Helmrick, reckless driving; 12 months probation, treatment for alcohol/drugs and risk reduction and a $1,028 fine. Merge: DUI-less safe, speeding.
•Daniel Keith Skinner, disorderly conduct-fighting words; 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim(s) and a $500 fine.
•Jeffrey Robert Harris, theft of lost or mislaid property; 12 months probation, no contact with victim(s) and a $200 fine.
•Christopher Daniel Deaton, theft by taking; 12 months probation, no contact with victim(s) and a $400 fine.
•Christopher Daniel Deaton, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, giving false name to a law enforcement officer; 12 months probation, 12 months concurrent with another sentence currently serving and a $750 fine.
•Todd Ashley Wages, criminal trespass; 6 months confinement credit for time served since June 2, 2011.
•Michael Brendle, disorderly conduct; $300 fine. Nolle prosequi: obstruction.

•Johnny Carlton Wright; DUI-less safe; 12 months probation, 240 hours of community service, treatment for alcohol/drugs and risk reduction and a $1,000 fine. Nolle prosequi: DUI-per se.
•Jason Alan Armstrong, stop sign violation; 12 months probation and a $160 fine.
•Alisia Shook, underage possession of alcohol; $250 fine.
•Donna Elaine McDaniel; 10 counts mandatory attendance in public, private or home school; 30 days probation, 30 days probation consecutive with another sentence currently serving time nine and 100 hours community service. Nolle prosequi: mandatory attendance in public, private or home school.
•Lindsay Royster, obstruction of officers; 12 months probation and a $300 fine.
•Thomas Paulk, charges unknown; 12 months probation and a $500 fine.
•Kevin S. Wiggley, DUI-less safe; 12 months probation, treatment for risk reduction and alcohol/drugs, 240 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.

•Tammy D. James, battery family violence, criminal trespass; 12 months probation, 12 month probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, no contact with victim(s), treatment for alcohol/drugs and a $500 fine.
•Eric Lamar Thomas, aggravated assault, cruelty to children third degree, obstruction of an officer-misdemeanor; 10 years probation, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, 12 months probation with another sentence currently serving, no violent contact with victim(s), 3 years suspended upon intensive probation for six months, restitution to be determined and a $1,500 fine. •Jospeh Larry Casper, theft by taking; 8 years probation, no contact with victim(s), restitution to be determined and a $1,000 fine.
•Brandy Danielle Payne, possession of methamphetamine, criminal trespass, obstruction of officers, operating vehicle without valid tag; 10 years probation, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, no contact with victim(s), successful completion of all conditions of Hall County Drug Court, restitution to be determined within 90 days and a $1,600 fine.
•Ishia Billings, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute; four months confinement, 9 years and 8 months probation, credit for time served since April 15, 2011, and a $1,500 fine.
•Jennifer Lynn Meers, possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended, obstruction of law enforcement officer, giving false name to a law enforcement officer, possession of drug related object; 15 years probation, 5 years probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, no contact with victim(s), and $2,500 fine.
•Jennifer Lynn Meers, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana less than one ounce; 15 years probation, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, credit for time served since July 13, 2011, no contact with victim(s), and a $2,500 fine. Nolle prosequi: possession of methamphetamine.
•Todd Ashley Wages, obstruction of officers; six months confinement, six months probation and a $250 fine.
•Lisa Carol Spicer, two counts abandonment of child; 12 months probation, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, attend parenting classes and a $500 fine.
•Daniel William Evans, one count criminal trespass; 12 months probation, do not return to Jameson Inn in Georgia, treatment for mental health and alcohol/drugs and a $500 fine.
•Claudia Romero-Gonzalez, disorderly conduct; 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim(s) and a $500 fine. Nolle prosequi: cruelty to children third degree.
•Daniel Edward Wagner, battery; 12 months probation, treatment for anger management, no contact with victim(s), write a letter of apology and a $250 fine. Nolle prosequi: battery.
•Lisa Carol Spicer, theft by taking, criminal trespass; 12 months probation, 12 months probation concurrent with another sentence currently serving, no contact with victim(s), do not return to Quality Foods and a $800 fine. Nolle prosequi: criminal trespass.
