After months of regional and state review, 13 Barrow County road projects – including portions of the long-planned West Winder Bypass and two new interchanges on Hwy. 316 – have made it onto the list of projects that could be funded by a regional transportation sales tax going before voters next year.
An executive committee presented to the Northeast Georgia Regional Transportation Roundtable last week its recommended list of 68 projects eligible for funding at least in part with the proceeds of the 1-percent T-SPLOST.
The list won’t receive the roundtable’s final vote until after three public hearings and an Oct. 6 vote of the 24-member roundtable. However, Georgia Department of Transportation officials already have signed off on the list, and it is not likely to change much.
Serving as Barrow County’s representatives on the roundtable are Barrow County commission chairman Danny Yearwoood and Statham Mayor Robert Bridges.
For the full list of proposed projects, see the Aug. 17 issue of the Barrow Journal.

The vote passed. THERE ARE NO DO OVERS!
The reason the BOC decided to hold the vote early was because HB240 was in the works. HB240 would have allowed them to use SPLOST funds to pay off existing debt, however you would have had to vote on the SPLOST fund and the referendum to transfer the money to existing debt AT THE SAME TIME.
The BOC and chairman f$$$ed up again. This is why your property tax is increasing!
Dude
You are persona non grata.
Allah,
You are an ASSA non grata
