Embattled former fire lieutenant Todd Orr is back behind bars at the Barrow County Detention Center.
Orr, 46, was arrested Aug. 8 after reporting to his probation officer at Sentinel Offender Services LLC in Winder.
Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said the private probation company requested a deputy around 3:45 p.m., and Orr was transported to the jail and booked on an alleged probation violation.
Superior Court Judge Currie Mingledorff in May sentenced Orr to 24 months’ probation and directed him to substance abuse and mental health evaluations and any needed treatment in connection with a 2010 gun incident on Christmas Day.
Two months after the judge accepted the plea agreement enabling Orr to retain his state certifications as a firefighter and an emergency medical technician, the family called for a deputy after Orr allegedly told his estranged wife in a late-night telephone call July 30 that instead of trying to kill himself seven months earlier, he should have blown her head off.
The sheriff said his investigators are wrapping up their investigation of the phone-call incident. No related warrants had been filed as of Monday afternoon.
Winder criminal attorney Billy Healan said Monday afternoon that he had not yet had time to clarify the basis of the alleged probation violation.
“We certainly intend to contest the probation violation and are looking forward to having our day in court soon,” Healan said. “He denies he committed any new offenses or violated his probation.”

$1.7 Million dollars and they want to report on one man. What a Joke.
Deal with it.
You have to be either completely stupid to say such a thing, or so ignorant that it defies imagination.
Regardless of how you feel about the situation with Todd Orr, anyone who believes that innocent people aren't ever put into jail should be locked up themselves, because they are obviously not intelligent enough to keep from hurting themselves.
