BOE approves district proposal map

The Barrow County Board of Education unanimously approved a recommended board district map Tuesday night. The map approved was the “census tract” version. The move will keep all current BOE members within their existing districts.

It is the same map adopted by the board of commissioners last week, meaning both BOE and BOC districts will be the same.

The BOE held a required public hearing on the matter prior to its 7 p.m. regular meeting at which one citizen spoke, expressing preference for the census tract version.
