A Barrow County man is still at large after his daughter and seven other people have been charged with stealing a hot air balloon from a Gwinnett County residence last month, Gwinnett Police released Monday.
On July 5, an enclosed trailer containing the balloon and supporting equipment, which was valued at around $70,000, was stolen from a home on Collins Hill Road in Lawrenceville.
Authorities found the trailer July 6 on a farm off Stanley Road in Dacula. Several pieces of equipment were missing.
An anonymous tip in the trailer investigation led detectives to the home of Susan Owen, 32, on Scott Circle in Dacula.
Detectives searched the location and found parts of a lock that possibly belonged to the stolen trailer. They also found small amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana. Detectives obtained warrants for Owen for possession of these drugs on two counts of violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. Owen has not been apprehended for these warrants.
A second tip led detectives to suspect Amber, 24, and her father Richard Spinks, 46, of stealing the hot air balloon trailer.

1. What kind of father does drugs with his daughter who is 5 months pregnant. 2.What kind of daddy don't turn his self in when his daughter is sitting in jail for things he did to. I know a piece of white trash no good man would only let his only daughter go to jail for him.
