A Winder man has been charged with the murder of his wife, Tonya Faye Lynn, who has been missing since Wednesday, according to Winder Police, who have already notified the family.
James Morris "Jim" Lynn, 42, is in custody at the Barrow County Detention Center and is awaiting his first court appearance. Winder Police brought Lynn in for investigation on charges of obstruction Friday morning. The GBI and Barrow County Sheriff's Office assisted in determining that the information Lynn gave police was false. In the midst of the investigation, authorities were led to a body by Jim Lynn, according to authorities.
The body was found in a well off Etheridge Road in Auburn around 4 p.m. and it is suspect the body is of Tonya Lynn's. It will be taken to the Georgia Crime Lab for identification and autopsy.
Authorities received leads after Tonya Lynn's relative received an early morning text message from her cell phone. The message requested that the relative take care of Lynn’s children. The phone was turned off when the relative tried to call back immediately after receiving the text. Tonya Lynn's Chevrolet Tahoe was located at a nearby library from her house a few hours later and that is when the relative reported her missing.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Lynn's family," said Winder Police Chief Dennis Dorsey. "This has been a long couple of days."

My heart breaks for her family and those poor children. Now not only have they lost their mother to murder but to know that their father is responsible for all of this. Everyone always talks about how sweet and wonderful a person is when they're gone but I can honestly say Tonya Lynn was an amazing, wonderful woman and mother. She truely had a great heart and would do anything to help anyone. I'm so blessed to have called her my friend.

WSB radio reported that she had a restraining order on him, but that is worthless when you have some nut who is hell bent on getting to you. I just wish she had been armed. She obviously know he was coming. I feel sooo bad for her 4 kids and hope they can stay together.

Thank you so much for your prayers & support during this devastating time for our family. I am very proud & thankful for the awesome job of local law enforcement was well as the GBI. Please help us protect her children & only post condolences on here - not about stuff from the past or your personal opinion of the situation. Children these days are so tech savy, they may come across what you post. Thank you again, but please be mindful.
