SPD accepting machine gun bids through July 24

The Statham Police Department will be accepting written bids via e-mail and fax only for the sale of a Smith & Wesson Model 76 9mm Submachine Gun and two magazines through July 24.

All sales must be completed through a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer and must be in compliance with applicable federal and state firearms laws. Buyers must be able to pass any background checks that may be required. Those interested in viewing the weapon may do so by requesting an appointment in writing.

Appointments will be scheduled for July 18-22 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. only. Bids and viewing appointment requests may be submitted to:  Chief Steve Martin c/o City of Statham Police Department by email at stevemartin@stathampd.com or by fax at 770-725-0615. No phone calls will be accepted.
