29 sentences handed down last week
Twenty-nine people were sentenced in Barrow County Superior Court last week. Sentenced were:
•Robert Wentz, two counts theft by deception: 20 years probation or serve 4 years on count one, suspended upon 12 months Intensive Probation Supervision (IPS) and payment of restitution in full within 2 years, no contact with victim(s), $2,846 in fines, banned from Piedmont Judicial Circuit.
•Michael Charles Henderson, one count possession of cocaine, one count driving while license suspended: six days confinement, 12 months probation, completion/attendance of evaluation/treatment for alcohol/drugs, $1,000 in fines.
•Dessua Samuel Andrews, one count criminal trespass, one count giving false information to police: 40 days confinement, 12 months probation, $500 in fines.
•Brandon Lee Hooper, theft by taking-misdemeanor; 12 months jail time.
•Timothy Shane Bray, one count aggravated assault, one count fleeing and attempting to elude, one count Driving Under the Influence (DUI): less safe, one count criminal trespass: 3 years confinement, 9 years probation, 40 hours community service, complete evaluation/treatment for substance abuse, family violence intervention program, risk reduction, no violent contact with victim(s), abide by curfew and $2,000 in fines.
•Michael Wayne Edwards, one count interference with government, two counts disorderly conduct, two counts criminal trespass, one count simple battery-family violence, one count obstruction of persons making 911 calls: 2-5 years probation, complete evaluation/treatment for substance abuse, domestic violence at own expense, no contact with victim(s), $2,171.54 in fines.
•George Hunter Eady, one count theft by taking, one count criminal trespass: 24 months probation, abide by curfew, $1,000 in fines.
•Jerry Lee Dudley, one count possession of methamphetamine, one count terroristic threats, one count battery-family violence, two counts cruelty to children third degree: 10 years probation, serve two years, suspended upon 19 days in custody followed by six months IPS, banishment from the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, no violent contact with victim(s), $2,000 in fines.
•Augustan Verdugo Garcia, simple assault, obstruction of 911 call: 24 months probation, completion/attendance of evaluation/treatment for anger management, no contact with victim(s), $1,000 in fines.
•Jonathan David Jackson a.k.a. JJ Jackson, one count burglary, one count criminal trespass, one count theft by taking, one count theft by taking motor vehicle, one count theft by receiving stolen property, seven counts entering auto, three counts criminal trespass: 15 years probation, 12 months work release, credit for time already served on probation, 200 hours of community service, no contact with victim(s), $3,000 in fines.
•Jonathan David Jackson, one count possession of cocaine, one count entering auto, one count theft by deception, one count possession marijuana less than one ounce: 20 years probation, serve 5 years suspended upon successful completion of drug court, abide by curfew, $1,000 in fines suspended upon successful completion of drug court.
•Randall James Glenn, one count criminal trespass: completion/attendance of evaluation/treatment for anger management, no violent contact with victim(s), $500 in fines.
•Jason Michael Turpin, one count obstruction of officer-misdemeanor: 12 months probation, abide by curfew.
•Jason Michael Turpin, one count possession of Clonazepam: 5 years probation, abide by curfew.
•Jason Michael Turpin, one count financial transaction card theft: 3 years probation, abide by curfew.

•Antonia Lemont Cain, one count disorderly conduct: 90 days confinement, 14 years and 9 months probation, completion/attendance of evaluation/treatment for family violence intervention, no violent contact with victim(s), $200 in fines.
•David Perry Martin, one count possession of methamphetamine, one count seat belt violation: three months confinement, 15 years, 14 years and 9 months probation, complete evaluation/treatment for substance abuse, abide by curfew, $15 fine.
•Mark Allen Asprogiannis, one count DUI-Alcohol PerSe, one count criminal trespass: 24 hours confinement, 12 months probation, completion/attendance of evaluation/treatment for alcohol/drug, risk reduction, abide by curfew, $1,100 in fines.
•Dairio Demond Peters, nolo contendere on one count possession of marijuana more than one ounce: 4 years probation, complete evaluation/treatment for substance abuse, abide by curfew, no contact w/ victim(s), $1,000 in fines.
•Tobin Troy Richardson, one count possession of controlled substance, one count possession of marijuana less than one ounce, one count DUI drugs: 24 hours confinement, 3 years probation, 40 hours community service, complete evaluation/treatment for substance abuse, abide by curfew, complete DUI/Risk Reduction, $2,250 in fines.
