Body found at Little Mulberry Park has been identified

A deceased body found on a trail by a man hiking in Little Mulberry Park in Auburn on Sunday has been identified, authorities said Tuesday night.

The body was that of Aaron R. Bregenzer, a 29-year-old white male.

There is no evidence of foul play in the case, authorities said, and the cause of death will not be confirmed until toxicology results return. Suicide is suspected, officials said.

Officers reported they found a decomposing body in the area of a hiking trail within the park off Fence Road on June 26. The body was initially discovered by a man while he was hiking in the park with his son.

Due to the state of decomposition, the gender of the body was not immediately determined and a cause of death and identity were not immediately apparent.

An autopsy was performed at the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s office on June 26.

Aaron was my best friend. Out kids played weekly. on june 26th I spoke to the medical examiner over the phone while I was at mulberry. aaron and I were narcotics anonymous together. on june 24 celebrate my 2 years clean his 3 years clean. all that changed on father's day late evening when I got a suicide attempt from him.The days leading up to his death he was highly highly intoxicated with any drugs he could find. then I heard your toxicology you found nothing no trace of drugs. I don't understand and I know no one may get back to me. today 6 months. I know I may never get a final answers but how did he die. my daughter always asks when we're going to uncle aarons house. if anyone please help me try to understand I would be very grateful. my cellphone number is 678 396 0227. thank you
