Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman Corporal Jake Smith said today an update on the bound found in Little Mulberry Park in Auburn on Sunday evening will be released sometime this afternoon. Smith did release that the intact body discovered on a hiking trail at the park off Fence Road in Auburn was an adult male.
"We are waiting on confirmation on the findings from the medical examiner's office," said Smith.
The body was found at about 6 p.m. Sunday night ion a hiking trail at the park, which is in an unincorporated area of Gwinnett County in Auburn. Police said a man who was hiking in the park with his son discovered the body.
The Gwinnett Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit as well as detectives responded.
Due to the state of decomposition, the gender of the body was not able to be determined on scene and cause of death and identity were not apparent.
