First responders with Winder Police and Fire departments cleared an accident Tuesday at the intersection of Beulah and Athens Streets after a train collided with a Volvo sedan at about 1 p.m.
According to Winder Police Officer Lt. Rob Curot, the train was headed eastbound when it struck the Volvo that was headed southbound on Beulah Street crossing over the railroad tracks.
All three occupants of the Volvo were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

This explains the train backup when I was coming home. Glad no one was seriously hurt
( literely). The way these trains operate is right out of the old west, they blow through our towns like there is no humanity around them, they park and block entire towns and move at their whim. The operators laugh at the citizens and our police.
We dont need trains in Barrow County.
Stop, look, listen and be safe!
Just think, no more traffic jams caused by trains!
lets go back to elementary school, When crossing a RR Xing, we Look, Listen and Look again before we cross and never stop on the tracks
Nowadays they just flatten you and probably speed up when the see a car on the tracks. Did you know that theres onlt two drinks that most railroad men havent tried ? thats a cold glass of water and a sip of ice tea. With Sunday sales coming to a town near you soon , look for more train caused traffic jams.
