Sad situation. Too much alcohol and a lack of personal control. --And at a time when we are short of Firefighting personnel... I hope others are watching and do not risk their positions which such behavior.

You would think that the fire department would see the need for in house counseling to these workers. The police officers have counseling when they have to tend with unsettling situations why shouldn't other emergency personnel. The need for alcohol is a means to forget some of the graphic scenes that this brave people face everyday. I hope that in the future the county will see the need for such services to our everyday heros.

A 'need' for alcohol is Alcoholism. The Fire Department along with every other employer have 'Assistance Hotlines' for personal problems and addictions. Being absent from work due to being in jail, is an unexcused absence anyway. Getting drunk and slapping your family has nothing to do with work. Alcohol is not a means to deal with anything. That is a self-enabler and anyone doing so should seek assistance. This story is open and shut. There is no controversy here, getting charged with domestic abuse would effect most jobs.
