Barrow County School System releases options for parents

According to Georgia Law HB 251, parents of public school students are given the option to consider transferring their child to another school within their district where space is available and parents provide transportation.

Barrow County Schools recently released six schools with grade levels as options for transfers. The following classes have available space:

Bethlehem Elementary – grade 5
Bramlett Elementary – grades K and 1
Kennedy Elementary – grades 2 and 3
Statham Elementary – grades 4 and 5
Haymon Morris Middle School – grades 7 and 8
College & Career Preparatory Academy – grades 9 through 12

Transfer Request Forms are available on the school system website at www.barrow.k12.ga.us or can be picked up at the Barrow County Board of Education office.

The deadline for all requests is 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 23. Proof of residency must be attached to all requests and mailed or delivered to: Barrow County Board of Education 179 W. Athens Street, Winder GA 30680.
