The 22nd annual “Give Burns the Boot” drive, benefiting the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation, begins Friday, May 6, and continues on May 20 and 28, as well, Barrow County officials said last week.
Barrow County Emergency Services is one of more than 100 fire departments statewide joining forces to support the burn foundation, whose mission is to partner with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities and assist burn survivors in their recovery.

Even more please call them and ask about Barrow County Fire Department and the support we give them and moneys we raise. Please don't allow past chief's mistakes skew your view of the fire department. And if they do I apologize.
I know if anyone else did this, they would go to jail. Its double standards to allow ANYBODY to beg for money in the middle of traffic.
Go stand in the middle of the road at any intersection in downtown Winder and wave your shoe around asking for money from passing cars and see how long it takes for SEVERAL police cars to show up. You would be booked and arrested for your behavior before you could bat an eye.
