Six months after the issue was raised by a couple of city residents, the Winder Planning Board on Tuesday decided not to recommend anything regarding a proposed ordinance to allow residents to keep chickens on their properties.
The ordinance would allow the keeping of “domestic fowl” only on tracts of agriculturally zoned land at least five acres in size. It also would require that the fowl be kept under a fence and that all fowl enclosures or coops be at least 200 feet from neighboring properties.
