A Barrow County woman was killed Tuesday when she swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting a county dump truck head-on, said the Georgia State patrol.

Donna C. Hooper was killed on Hwy. 8 while traveling south. The driver of the truck swerved in an attempt to prevent a collision, but struck the Hooper vehicle.

No charges are pending and the GSP said their investigation is closed.

There is just some speculation on how the accident happened ...its easy to push aside a story when there's only one side to tell...its just grieving family members...we lost someone we loved dearly..we lay blame nowhere..she is at peace with Jesus....we always can have or say what if but Jo one will ever know what truly happened ....we just want to put our mother to her final resting place...if you would like to contact me whoever this might be my name is Jesse Hooper and my number is6783534033...

The ladies name that was killed was Donna Hooper. She was a loving mother. She leaves behind a husband of 48 years. Four children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren..She will be greatly missed and dearly loved. Thank you Her Family...

This is her daughter. She lived with me. I went to the accident site yesterday. The marks in the road clearly show she was back on her side of the road. Pictures were taken...many other witnessed this and agree. I am asking for a full investigation with recreation of the accident if need be. I do not feel in my heart it was her fault. No, it will not bring her back to her home with me...no, I will never be able to laugh till I cry again with her. It was a county dump truck...government. Why did when he seen her get back into his lane he did not continue straight? He came into her lane...hit her in her lane. Did the breaks lock up on such a large truck? Perhaps. I just need the truth for closure. I will not be at peace until I know the truth.

I know from experience that when the cops investigate, reach a conclusion and close their books, they don't reverse their opinion. They aren't going to re-open, re-create and revise their judgment.

Again, I know from experience (much like your own).
So, you'd best move and learn to live with it.

I am truly sorry for your loss. However, it is clear that you mother crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, therefore causing the accident. What would you have done had you been driving and seen another vehicle heading straight towards you?? It's easy to place blame when we lose a loved one. However, it seems like you need to face the facts of what happened and come to terms with that.

If this is the gentlemen that was involved with my mothers wreck I would truly like to speak with you..this is her son..i hold no hard feelings..i was a police officer for along time and I'm just Trying to peace things together ..i know your struggling with this also..fault or no fault you have to deal with the fact that you were involved in a wreck that took someone's life..its got to be weighing heavy on you..she was my mom..god was ready for her to come sit in his kingdom. Unless your a coward and commit suicide ,no one can determine when its there time to leave this earth..god does that..i forgive you..for whatever could of been different..done different all the what ifs and could of been..call me please and lets just talk. I do not want the investigation closed. What happened to the pending blood test? What about the marks in the road? What about my mom, the beautiful grandmother to my children? Im not OK, never will be I suppose.

The dump truck struck my mothers car in "her lane: Please go there...look at the marks for yourself. Clearly she was in her lane within the yellow line 100%.
Do pictures lie? I have enough to feel confident my mother seen what was coming and was unable to avoid the accident. She was about 7 inches over the yellow line at a point of 180 or so feet BEFORE impact..correcting her mistake being back in her lane. I do not understand the swerve into her lane by the County dump truck...which obviously impact took place there. Ever spoken to? Ive been...his brakes locked, he panicked and could not gain control. I will believe this to MY dying day.

by the way just thought Id let everyone know that I, living in Kennesaw had a copy of the police report before your Commissioner Daniel Yearwood. When I asked why he did not have one and know of the details of his county dump truck in a fatal collision he had NO answer for me. Oh my you wonderful folks out there....Just letting you know..got questions? post them, i will check in and answer...

Editor..get the story straight. She was traveling North. Not south. The impact took place in the northbound lane. Will someone please go see the marks..Please!
