The Winder Cultural Arts Department has announced that a third session of ballroom dance classes is planned at the Winder Cultural Arts Center, located at 105 East Athens Street, Winder.
The classes, taught by Natalie Grier Cox, will begin on Tuesday, March 4, and will run for six consecutive Tuesday nights. Two separate class sessions will be held each night.
The six-week session will introduce students to the basics of ballroom dance and will include: Ballroom Basics with waltz and foxtrot, from 6-7 p.m.; and Latin basics with instruction in swing and salsa, from 7:15-8:15 p.m.
Cox received her A.B. and J.D. from the University of Georgia. While at UGA, she served as a principal dancer of the UGA Ballroom Performance Group from 2002-2006 and as the group’s president during her last year.
Since graduation, she has continued to perform and teach with Contact Dance at Dancespace and various studios around Northeast Georgia. Cox’s performances include DanceAthens at the Morton Theatre and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C.
To enroll in one class, the cost per couple is $90 and $60 for an individual for the six-week session, paid directly to the instructor (cash or check only).
