The Barrow County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a resolution establishing a “Charter Review Committee” that will have 7-8 weeks to study Barrow County’s form of government and to recommend whether it should be changed.
The BOC also appointed seven committee members to what will be a nine-member panel.
The appointees include: David Mann to represent District 1; Shirley Segars, District 2; Chris Bailey, District 3; Bob Akin, District 4; John King, District 5; and Ray Newman, District 6. The at-large appointee is Scott Hang.
When it meets for the first time by April 22, those seven members will appoint two additional at-large members.
