Home severely damaged by Sun. fire

A doublewide home on Cooks Road was severely damaged by fire early Sunday morning and the family inside just escaped injury.

The family had to escape out a bedroom window. No smoke detector was in the home, officials said.

Investigation of the fire is ongoing, said fire officials. The family was helped by the Red Cross.
