Winder Police are investigating gunshots fired from a vehicle Thursday night (April 7) at a residence near Jessie Street.
Officers responded to a report of gunshots at about 7:15 p.m. Witnesses told them two vehicles drove by erratically and that passengers inside the vehicle were laughing and shooting a gun out of the window.
While police were taking statements from the witnesses, one of the vehicles reportedly involved in the shooting drove again by the residence . One of the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to yield, police said.
Officers chased the vehicle toward Statham. The chase ended when the suspects' vehicle lost a tire.

I agree with you James. I don't know anything about running a police department, but I have been in supervision for many years. I see Chief Dorsey is making some positive changes, and he has gotten the community involved. I met him at a Chamber meeting and was very impressed, I thought he was much older until I met him. I wish him well, and know in time Winder Police Department will be the class of the area.

Wasn't it two Statham Officers who captured one of the suspects after a foot chase? Barrow County Deputies caught the other one in a house.

I'm glad they are investigating this one. The drive by that happened in the Dreamland subdivision in February was totally ignored. It happened on a Saturday night. Sunday morning I found three shell casings in the road and the officer that came out just picked them up and shoved them in his pocket!
