A house fire in Barrow County Wednesday night left a family of five safe, but displaced. Barrow fire officials received a call around midnight about the fire on Patrick Mill Road and six units of fire and medical personnel responded, according to Lt. Scott Dakin.
A smoke alarm alerted the family to the blaze and all family members, including children, were able to escape, he said.
The cause of the fire was said to be electrical and was mainly in the garage area, although the home itself suffered smoke damage.
