The Auburn City Council unanimously approved plans for the 2010 Transportation Investment Act at its meeting Thursday, which will affect the Great Rail Trail and Mt. Moriah, Kilcrease and County Line roads for widening and resurfacing.
The Transportation Investment Act — better known as T-SPLOST — is a proposed one percent sales tax that will fund highway projects that Georgians will vote on in the 2012 primary elections.
Should the tax pass in Northeast Georgia, all the revenue collected would stay in the region; 25 percent would be spent on local projects.
