Plans to educate Winder residents of police efforts to be “proactive rather than reactive” starts Thursday night.
Winder Police Chief Dennis Dorsey presented his department’s plan to hold public zone meetings to the city’s community housing committee on Tuesday. Dorsey’s plan aims to open lines of communication between the department and Winder citizens with regards to public safety during the process of citywide revitalization.
A Zone II town hall meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in White Oaks Baptist Church on the subject of securing homes.
Zone II is the residential area north of the railroad tracks and east of North Broad Street, which includes the Glenwood community. White Oaks Baptist Church is located at 123 East New Street Winder, GA 30680.
