Winder Barrow Middle School saw its 8th Grade writing scores improve this year with only an eight percent failure rate compared to a 17 percent rate last year.
WBMS led the way for all four of the county’s middle schools with the lowest failure rate.
Westside Middle School had a 10 percent failure rate, Russell Middle School an 11 percent rate and Haymon-Morris Middle School a 13 percent rate.
All of the scores exceeded the state rate where 17 percent of students failed. It was the second year in a row Barrow’s results were better than the state average.
