84 Lumber to close Winder location

84 Lumber on Bankhead Hwy. in Winder is slated for closure, according to a Thursday news article.

Some 10 stores across the nation are going to be shuttered, according to the article. Winder is the only location in Georgia listed.

The stores were said to have "underperformed" for the past three years.

When we were building our house, we shopped around for the best price in lumber. 84 Lumber was one of the places we received a quote from.

Not only was the salesman I spoke with at 84 Lumber was extremely rude but their quote came in much higher than the next highest quote.

I hate to see a local business fail, but you are right, they were very proud of their products and it was a matter of time before others began to shop elsewhere
