A man with outstanding warrants was arrested last week by Auburn Police after he fell asleep in a church parking lot.
An officer on patrol near Brown’s Bridge Road spotted a vehicle parked in the back corner of a church parking lot at approximately 2:30 in the morning. When he approached, the officer found a black male asleep in the car. When he awoke the man, the man said he was too tired to drive home so he had stopped to rest. Upon running the man’s identification, the officer found that the man had warrants in three states, including Georgia. He was arrested, booked and transported to the Gwinnett County jail awaiting transport to Fulton County where the outstanding Georgia warrant was from.

•auto theft from a Wynfield Lane residence. A woman reported her car had been stolen and she believed that her brother had searched her home to find the keys and then took the car. She gave officers two leads on where the vehicle might be found. Approximately two hours later, the woman notified police that she knew where the vehicle was. When police arrived at the location they did find the car but they could not locate her brother. The woman stated she did not want to press charges against her brother.
