Time is running out for properties that have been chronic eyesores in the city of Winder.
At a city council work session Monday night, officials put on notice the owners of automotive repair shops illegally storing vehicles or parts outside – as well as owners of residential properties that are not properly maintained.
Mayor Chip said there would be stepped-up enforcement of city codes in residential areas, and he called on owners of homes and businesses to take better care of their properties in order to create “a beautiful Winder and a better place to live.”
Referring to photographs of alleged violations, Councilman Bob Dixon said city officials have been “very patient” with the owners of a couple of automotive repair shops that are illegally storing vehicles or auto parts outside of their buildings.
City officials said they wanted those places to clean up or move.
