Winder city administrator Don Toms is urging local residents and business owners to attend the March 7 city council work session to hear a presentation on a major expansion of the city’s recycling services.
“The mayor and council would like to know if the community would be interested in this program before making any long-term commitments,” states a press release issued by Toms.
Under the program, 70-96 gallon carts on wheels would replace current 18-gallon recycling containers.
Other scheduled speakers for the 5:30 p.m. meeting on March 7 are Linda Moore of the Barrow County Economic Development Commission, Barrow County Commissioner Ben Hendrix, Downtown Development Authority chairman Mike Rice.
Toms said Mayor Chip Thompson also would provide an update on the work of the local Georgia Initiative for Community Housing committee.
And Councilman Sonny Morris will present information on emergency medical services responses.
