The Barrow Preservation Society and Hill’s Ace Hardware are sponsoring the first Old House Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9 am until noon in Hill’s West Athens Street millwork department.
Hill’s millwork specialist James Saunders will be teaching techniques for weatherizing wood windows. Workshop participants will learn how to properly re-glaze and insulate wood windows, weatherstrip, and repair double hung windows that no longer operate properly. Postponed from Jan. 22, the workshop promises to be a great resource for residents of houses with wood windows that may be in need of a tune-up.
The workshop is free to all participants, but those who register in advance will receive a free “how to” booklet that will help after the workshop.
