David Preston Hardigree, 79, of Winder, died Thursday, March 6, 2008.

Born in Barrow County on June 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Robert Sidney and Naomi Carr McElroy Hardigree. Except for a few years in Mazatlan, Mexico, he lived most of his life in Winder. He was retired from Athens Regional Medical Center as a radiological technician.
Survivors include children and spouses, David and Susan Hardigree, Winder, and Mark and Lisa Hardigree, Jefferson; grandchildren and spouses, April and Wesley Piece, Sidney and Erin Hardigree, Ellie Hardigree and Cason Hardigree; great-grandchildren, Brooklynne and Addie Pierce.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family in a celebration of his life at the Statham Community Center Sunday, March 16, between 2 and 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
