Winder Officers had to subdue a man who became violent at a West Athens Street address last week.
Bradley Dockery was charged with terroristic threats, obstruction of police, battery, disorderly conduct and public intoxication after he reportedly hit several people in a house along the street, then accosted officers.
According to WPD incident reports, Dockery slammed his body against the door of a police car when officers arrived to assist EMS medical officials.
Officers arrived along with Fire Rescue and while attempting to park their vehicle Docker began cursing at them and making a “gun” gesture with his hand in a threatening manner.
Dockery then began to leave the scene when officers grabbed him by his shoulders and put him on the ground. Dockery continued to resist, but officers were able to restrain him in handcuffs.
Dockery was taken back to the police cars and traffic on the street had to be stopped momentarily.
While speaking with Dockery, police noticed a strong presence of alcohol on his breath. Dockery admitted that he had an unknown amount of alcohol.
Dockery began getting angry while being questioned and began cursing at the officers so he was then placed in the back of one of the patrol cars.
Firefighters on scene also told police that they observed Dockery running out of the building and he made the same “gun” gesture toward them before police arrived.
Because of the violent nature of Dockery, firefighters were not able to provide aid to injured persons inside until police arrived.
A witness claims that Dockery and others were at her house when Dockery just “snapped” and began hitting everyone inside.
The witness appeared to have been injured by Dockery while inside her home.
Other witnesses provided statements saying that Dockery had become violent and they also had signs of injuries.
Photos were taken of the injured people at the scene and Dockery was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center.
