Officers from the Winder Police Department responded to a call on Jan. 23, about underage drinking at a party on Park Avenue.
When officers arrived they noticed several vehicles parked on the sidewalk, and other officers were seen already posted at the property line behind the home.
When officers approached the house several people ran out the back door only to be immediately detained by waiting officers.
Three more people ran around to the front of the house and were also detained without incident.
A male identified as one of the residents said that he had just arrived home and fount that a party was going on with one of his roommates Ms. Kayla Matthew.
Officers went inside the house and found around 50 people and according to reports the majority were “obviously” intoxicated.
The people outside were brought inside and all subjects were detained to one large room.
Officers explained to those 21 and over they needed to line up and produce a form of identification.
All subjects that were under 21 were checked with an alco-sensor and a total of 8 people were arrested for underage consumption of alcohol.
None of the people could identify who furnished the alcohol and the resident was issued a citation for Disorderly House.
Everyone arrested was transferred to the Barrow County Detention Center.
