A man who reportedly stole steak from an area grocery store is among the incidents recently reported to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
On Jan. 14, Officers responded to a call on Atlanta Highway. They arrived at a store in response to a shoplifting and were met by the stores loss prevention officer.
The LP officer stated that a black male around six feet three inches left the store with unpaid merchandise that was believed to be steaks.
The man said the subject ran once he noticed he was being followed in the parking lot dropping the grocery bags.
The LP officer said he went back to claim the bags but noticed a vehicle parked in a handicap spot pulled up to the bags that were lying in the parking lot and drove away with them.
The LP officer said that the man was wearing an Atlanta Falcons hooded sweatshirt and a gray beanie hat.
Officers searched the area located near the crime scene but were unable to find anyone who matched the description given by the witness.
The witness said the subject had taken a total of three grocery bags and he believes they were full of T-bone steaks that had an estimated cost of about one hundred dollars.
Police say that it is unknown whether or not there is any video surveillance of the suspect while he was in the store.

Other incidents reported by the Barrow County Sheriff’s Department include:
•A damage to vehicle on Evergreen Drive. A woman claims that sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas her vehicle had been damaged. The woman claims to have noticed several scratches on the taillight and on the side of the vehicle. The woman claims she was originally not going to file a report but was told to do so by her insurance company.
•A criminal trespass on Bowman Mill Road. A woman claims someone drove a dirt bike through her front yard. The woman advised police that this was not the first time this had happened. The woman supplied officers with pictures of the riders on the dirt bike along with tracks they had made in the yard. The photos were taken by police as evidence.
•A domestic dispute on Cherokee Road. Police responded to a call about five people fighting. The occupants of the home were apparently fighting over family issues and as a result violence occurred between at least two subjects.
•A suspicious person on Loganville Highway. Three females were seen in a store in which they were previously suspected of stealing from. The clerk called police when she noticed the girls browsing in the back of the store. When police arrived they witnessed the girls cursing about the store while exiting the building and warned them about cursing and causing a scene in public.
•A complaint on Cade Court.
A man noticed a mailbox pulled out of the ground at a property that he managed. The man also noticed that the basement door to the residence was open. The man was able to secure the door with a new latch, and the man’s employer stated that the last time the property was checked was two weeks prior and the mailbox was up at that time.
•A complaint on Morris Lane. A woman claims that her friends fiancé arrived and wanted an item but that the woman’s friend did not want him at her residence. After it was discovered that the subject still lived at that residence, police informed one of the complainants that the subject still had a right to be there and when asked about the incident the man said he was not trying to cause any trouble and was just picking up an item.
•A theft on Beech Creek Circle. A woman claims that someone stole a blue electric scooter from someone’s home. The woman did not have any information about the scooter except that it was valued at around $400. A serial number was not given for the scooter.
•A suspicious vehicle on Harry McCarty Road. A man claims that a vehicle was seen being driven down his road with its horn being honked several times. The vehicle was described as a small truck. Police informed the witness that extra patrol would be given to that area.
•Aggravated assault on Skyland Drive. Officers reported an accident involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian. Charges have been filed in reference to this incident.
•A complaint on Smith Mill Road. A woman claims that her brother had filed an eviction notice for one of the residents. The woman then claimed that the tenants have not yet been given the notice but that she loaned them $15. After being asked if she got her money back the woman replied “yes” and was then told to go back to sleep by police.
•A theft on East Avenue. A woman claims that her car title was stolen. The woman claims that her daughter was the one responsible for the theft of the car title. The woman claims that she does not want the car reported stolen at this time. After a follow had taken place, police met with the complainant’s daughter and she admitted to having the vehicle but did not know where the title was. The daughter handed the keys back over to authorities.
•A burglary on Boman Mill Road. A woman claims to have heard a noise in another room of herhome and later discovered she was missing $60 from her purse. The woman claims that she usually keeps her front door locked but that she had forgotten to lock it that day. The woman was told that extra patrol would be given to the area.
•A criminal trespass on East Wright Street. A man claims that an unknown person was spotted in his back yard earlier that evening. The witness claims that the subject was seen standing by the shed and then began running trough the woods behind his home. After a search of the area police found no evidence of someone running through the woods or the backyard.
•Financial fraud on Rockwell Church Road. A woman claims that someone has been contacting her bank and trying to obtain her personal information. Officers were unable to gather any account information. She stated that she has the information but didn’t have it on hand because she was not prepared to file the report.
•Theft on Pierce Road. A man said that someone stole a fuel transfer pump system off one of the company’s trailers sometime in the past week. The man stated the system would be worth around $400.
•Harassing phone calls on Dogwood Trail. A woman claims that she has received several harassing phone calls and messages from her daughter-in-law. After investigating officers found no serious threats made on any of the messages. The woman was advised to take the case back through the court system because it involved custody of a child.
•Terroristic threats at the patrol office. A woman claims earlier in the day she was attacked for an unknown reason. A friend told the victim to view her facebook page and a long threatening message was located on her page. The woman claims that it was a friend of the subject who sent the message that attacked her.
•A suspicious person on Hill Dale Circle. A woman claims that she saw someone walking next to her street light beside her home. After a search of the area nobody was found.
•Harassing phone calls on Anchors Way. A woman claims that she has been receiving multiple calls from a man claiming that she has won a sweepstakes and she needed to send $500 to process her winnings. The caller went on to say that he would be by her residence to pick up the money. The woman claims that she never gave the caller any of her personal information.
•Identity theft on Blackstock Road. A man claims that his credit card number has been used at several different locations without his consent.
•A theft by taking on Finnigan Drive. A woman claims that her daughter stole her weed eater from her home and pawned it without her permission. The victim spoke with the pawn owner and he claims the daughter did pawn the item for $15. The pawn manager was not available at the time the report was taken and the item was not recovered.
•A suspicious incident on Diamond Ridge Drive. A woman claims that someone was walking in the woods behind her home, but police were unable to locate any footprints behind the home. Neighbors did not report seeing anyone outside the residence.
