Barrow County School Superintendent Wanda Creel is a soft-spoken woman with a warm, ready smile. She is also a nationally recognized educator whose plans for the Barrow County School System are featured in the Winter 2011 issue of Education Executive magazine, a national publication.
The two-page article, written by Maureen Wrinn, described the local school system under Creel’s leadership as “a model for state system standards and school reform innovation” due to Creel’s focus on “consistency…feedback and improvement for district-wide results.”
Creel’s “systematic approach” to achieving her three “non-negotiable system- wide goals” is described and those goals are outlined. They are: “Provide feedback to students, administrators and teachers…Focus on differentiated instruction… Conduct formative assessments to adjust instruction and make improvements.”

She may be soft-spoken and all smiles in public, but try talking to her on an issue where you don't agree and the sweet smile disappears and the "sharp" tongue will surface! She reminds me of the leader of the V's.
