On Jan. 8, Officers from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence on Lyle Road in reference to a theft.
Officers met with a woman who claims that some items were taken from a storage shed on her property.
The woman explained that she has several sheds and the doors are always closed to them, but never locked.
The woman said her son had come by earlier in the day and noticed that the doors were open to the storage building, but that nobody had been there in some time.
The victim noticed a pressure washer that was missing from the building nearest to the residence and that it was valued around 300 dollars.
No damage could be found to the storage building.
The victim also noticed a red Snapper riding lawnmower was missing from the storage building toward the back of her property.
It was discovered that a red tiller and a gray Stihl weed-eater were missing from the same storage building. The combined value for the three items from that building is over $2000.
A trail was found on the property where it appeared that the subjects had rolled the tiller. The trail found wend around the back yard and ended near the road. The two storage buildings vandalized where not near a good source of light and also unlocked.
Officers suggested a few ways in which the victim might prevent such theft in the future and an extra patrol was requested for the area.
Other incidents reported by the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office include:
•Suspicious activity on Highway 82. Someone advised dispatch that three black males were parked at the market on Highway 211 and walked across the road and got into a car. Police could find no evidence of forced entry at the home where the subjects were spotted.
•A criminal trespass on Cruce Lake Drive. A man claims he found several footprints in his back yard. The footprints found in the snow lead from the road to his back window. An extra patrol was requested for the area.
•Entering an auto with intent to commit theft on Carl Bethlehem Road. A man claims that someone broke into his truck while he was in a store. The man stated he left his vehicle in the parking lot overnight due to weather conditions. The man found the vehicle the next day with its window broken out. The man said that several thousand dollars worth of power tools were taken from the vehicle, but he could not provide serial numbers for any.
•A suspicious incident on Tanner’s Bridge Circle. A woman claims that someone opened her exterior basement door and activated the security alarm. Officers found footprints that were similar to a child’s that were leading from the back door. The woman claims she did have children that were playing in the back yard earlier in the day. No footprints were found that would have matched an adult and the woman was told to make sure all exterior doors remained locked.
•A complaint on Corrine Court. Two woman who were arguing over the phone for hours were separated by police after the parties met in the middle of the street in what might have been a physical altercation.
•A criminal trespass on Nunally Road. A man claims that he saw subjects riding four-wheelers on the field that he was renting. He claims that he has made multiple reports of the same incident in the past. Officers spoke with one of the subjects in question and he provided written proof of permission given by the owners of the property to ride and hunt on it.
•A suspicious incident on Kessler Road. A woman claims that she found footprints on her back porch and in her yard. Upon investigation officers found that the prints had been made by an animal and not by a person.
•Criminal damage to property on Loganville Highway. A clerk at a supermarket told police that a Hispanic male drove a vehicle into the front door of his business. The man described the vehicle as a black in color Chevrolet truck. A tag number was reported but due to weather conditions officers could not respond that evening.
•A suspicious vehicle on Langdon Park Court. A woman claims she saw a suspicious vehicle parked across the street from her home.
•A verbal dispute on Flether Drive. A woman claims she got into an argument with her boyfriend and her juvenile son called 911. The man left before police arrived and the victim told police no further assistance was needed.
•A criminal trespass on Bismark Circle. A woman claims a tire on her vehicle had been cut. The woman provided police with the slashed tire and a timeframe of when her car might have been damaged. The woman claims that she had been having trouble with a nearby resident. No other damage was found to the vehicle and no suspicious persons were found in the area.
•A burglary on Carl Bethlehem Road. A homeowner claims he found a white female and a white male attempting to vandalize his vacant home. He said the subjects fled when he arrived and drove away in a Chevrolet van. Six interior doors were taken from the residence.
