Garbage service in the cities of Winder and Auburn has been canceled for this week. But Statham customers are getting their regular Friday pickups today.
"We have regular service to Statham today," said a customer service representative at American Waste & Recycling on Friday morning.
Winder's city government this week posted the following notice on its web site: "The City of Winder will not pick up trash this week due to the weather and road conditions. Starting Monday, January 17, 2011, the regular trash pickup schedule will resume."
Charlotte Ewing of Auburn public works said she contacted Robertson Sanitation Friday morning after receiving an inquiry from a local resident, and she was told that that company has canceled trash pickup for this week but would resume its regular schedule next week.
"Next week, just put all your trash by the curb and it will be picked up," Ewing wrote in an e-mail to the
Barrow Journal.
There is NO REASON they couldnt have started to pikc up trash again on Tuesday...good grief i bet they had no problem going to walmart or the beer store! There needs to be a REFUND!!! This is ridiculous and highly unprofessional...leadership should be fired.
and Jud Smith canceled Halloween on Sunday because it fell on Church day..What happen to the so call Christian in Barrow County??
Screw the poor guy in the back of the truck freezing. Here in Barrow your trash is more important then a human life..
10 dollar off is not going to make you or break you..
Pathetic, people need to lose their JOBS over this epic failure.
Think about it this way....if you were a week or two late paying your bill, would they still pick up your trash...NO!!!! I don't get the service, I don't pay for it.
WHAT A PATHETIC FAILURE! WE NEED TO HAVE A CHOICE OF TRASH COMPANIES OPEN UP THE MARKET THIS MONOPOLY IS NOT SERVING THE PEOPLE!!!
