Officers from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched Jan. 4 to a bar on Atlanta Highway.
Upon arrival one of the bartenders told police that a woman had refused to leave the bar after being asked several times to do so by the staff.
The subject then attacked the bartender after she was asked to leave once again.
According to the bartender, the subject made numerous threats to many of the bartenders including one woman that was pregnant.
The witness claims the threats became so disruptive that at that time the woman was asked to leave the location.
The subject then poured beer onto the bartenders head and grabbed a handful of her hair.
The bartender claims that it took several employees to remove her from the premises.
The manager of the bar informed police that the woman had left in a car traveling with no headlights. While the manager was on the phone with dispatch, officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The passenger was then identified as Sonja Rhea. After being asked about the incident at the bar Rhea explained that they had assaulted her for no reason. However, Rhea was found very intoxicated and according to police unable to provide a story that made any sense.
Rhea was served with a prohibited entry from the establishment and informed that in the future the bartender might want to press charges.
