Officers from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute Dec. 26 at a residence on Deer Run Trail.
Upon arrival officers noticed a white pickup truck in the driveway with the door open and footprints in the snow leading to the back of the house.
The victim informed police that she got into an altercation with her son Lee Fleming, inside her home. The victim claims that her son had been angry for the past few days and that he was out of work and was very upset that she had knocked on his bedroom door.
The woman claims that her son began cursing at her and picked up an iron railroad spike and threw it missing her head and striking the wall behind her. Fleming then got into his mothers truck and was about to leave when she reminded him it was uninsured and he did not have a license. At that point Fleming exited the vehicle and walked around the house after he knew police were being called.
Officers walked around to the back of the house and followed footprints to nearby woods. Fleming was found in the area nearby and explained that he had gotten into an argument with his mother but that he only threw keys at her not a railroad spike.
Fleming was arrested for aggravated assault, criminal trespass and simple assault. He was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center.
