Officers from the Winder Police Department were dispatched to Monroe Hwy. Dec. 13 in reference to a shoplifting at a grocery store.
Upon arrival officers met with the store manager who explained that a white male came into the store, grabbed a buggy and a recyclable bag and began walking up and down the aisles like a normal shopper taking things off the shelf and putting them into the bag.
After getting all of his “grocery shopping” done, the man walked over to the pharmacy and purchased several items that required that he give his name and address. The man then walked over to the restroom leaving his cart outside the door. A few minutes later he walked out of the restroom and pushed his cart out of the store while holding his receipt from the pharmacy in his hand.
The entire incident was caught on video and a clerk in the store was able to write down the vehicles tag number.
The video of the event was put onto a DVD disc and taken as evidence by WPD.
The man was seen wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and had grey hair.
A state warrant has been taken out for the man’s arrest.
