Officers from the Auburn Police Department were dispatched to Carter Road Dec. 13 in reference to a dispute between two brothers.
Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who claims his brother was calling their mother names and cursing at her.
After trying to protect his mother the victim claims Justin Hobbs then became angry and approached him carrying a log.
Hobbs then threw the log at the victim and it struck him on the ankle leaving a large cut.
Officers spoke with the victim’s mother, along with Hobbs girlfriend who both confirmed the story that Hobbs had assaulted the victim with a piece of firewood and was threatening him.
Neighbors also saw the two men in the street and claim that Hobbs was cursing loudly and “throwing firewood.”
Hobbs was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery and transported to the Barrow County Detention Center.

•Sandra Thompson, 19, 1843 Highway 211, Winder, warrant arrest for theft.
